About
From a prayer for a pastor in 2000 to a congregation still learning and growing together on East Mountain Creek.
2000
A group of Hispanic brethren congregating at Tabernacle Baptist Church began to pray that God would provide them with a spiritual leader.
On Monday, July 10, 2000, Juan Carlos Fernandez, his wife Carmen and their son Victor Juan travelled to Greenville, South Carolina, to settle in this city and invited him to be their pastor. The incorporation meeting of the church was held on Sunday, September 17, 2000.
2001–2003
May 2001 marked the church's first year and coincided with the move to a new location on Pendleton Rd. In December 2001 they moved to Central Baptist Church, and in April 2003 they purchased the property at 126 East Mountain Creek. As of the summer of 2003 the church met at Faith Baptist Church on West Lee Road in Taylors.
2004–2007
On Sunday 31st October 2004 the construction of the church building began, which took 3 years and was the result of the efforts of the whole church. Throughout this time of construction we saw the hand of God providing for all that was needed.
2009–2020
These leaders have served in IBT Greenville in its first 20 years of existence and have been used by God for the edification of the church: Roberto Garret, Juan, Carmen and Victor Fernández, Daniel Valcárcel, Matías Espinel, Jason Armstrong, Josué Parks, Samuel Capellán, Omar Toledo, Gerson Ruíz, Elton Perdomo, Jeremy Patterson.
The church developed different ministries such as the children's church, teenagers and the Adiestra Conference, for leaders and pastors in the United States and the Hispanic world.
2021
Under the leadership of Pastor Fernandez, in 2021 the church voted and approved a name change to Tabernacle Bible Church effective January 1, 2022.
2022
Pastor Fernandez resigned from the church on Sunday, January 9, 2022 to move to Texas so that his wife Carmen can receive the necessary medical attention for her health condition. January 30 was his last service with us.
Jeremy Patterson was elected senior pastor.
